Over the years, Anne Brandly has experimented
with many media to find her artistic voice: fibre arts, music,
painting, jewellery-making. This has evolved into making glass
beads through the ancient art of lampworking.
First, she melts a glass rod over a small
flame. When the glass is molten, she winds it on a stainless steel
mandrel to make the hole in the bead. Shaping and embellishment
finishes the bead in the most beautiful colours imaginable!
With her husband Ken, a stained and fused glass
artist himself, they have opened a studio and gallery adjacent to
their home at 6933 Road 38 in Verona, Ontario.
